If we give away silver and know we will get back twice as much gold, giving is easy. And if we give money to God, then the great reward is certain for us.

In the past, people still knew secret writing that became readable only in warmth. Before that, nothing could be seen. And we recognize some thoughts of God only when we come close to the blazing fire of testing.

We keep putting our fingers into our own wounds, and that hurts and weakens us. But we should put our fingers into Jesus’ wounds; then we are strengthened in faith.

We are to be curious readers of the Bible, but stop where the Word is silent. We find a stop sign in Matthew 11: 27

“No one knows the Son except the Father.”
