If you have turned away from Him, if other things have entered your heart and formed a crust around it, you will not immediately find joy again. God wants you to deal with this crust and remove it. Remember that Christ purchased you with His own blood so that you belong to Him, not the world. Do not let Satan come between you and God’s grace.
No matter how superficial you may have been, no matter how far you may have strayed from Him, count on His love. It is His joy to see you return. Look upon your sin with disgust, but never grieve God by lacking trust in His love. He has loved you and will love you to the end.
Speak often with Jesus. Never be satisfied if you cannot walk and talk with Christ as with a dear friend. Let nothing suffice for you but an intimate fellowship of your soul with Him who loved you and washed you from your sins in His own blood!
