Adoption

God's perspective: He has provided true sonship (adoption) for believing Christians and did so "before the foundation of the world" (Ephesians 1:4-5). Our perspective: Through faith in Jesus' name, we receive the right to be children of God (John 1:12). But divine adoption goes further than an inalienable right, as we know it from human adoption because God's children are "born of God" (John 1:13).
