Apostasy

The word means "to go" or "to depart," i.e., to move away from something. It is a "departure from a former state" (Acts 21:21: "apostasy from Moses"). It is about people who never had real life from God but were only confessors and turned away from Christ's truth. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, it describes people who completely abandon the Christian faith in the end times and turn to the Antichrist. The "apostasy" takes place after the Rapture. Today we are experiencing decay and decline, but not yet the final "apostasy."
