Assembly

The literal meaning is “called out”:

• called out of "the darkness" (1. Pet 2:9)—this refers to the area where there is a lack of light about God Himself, His love and His righteousness, His intentions with Christ and the redeemed, and the necessity of the salvation of lost man.

• called out to Jesus Christ to gather around or to HIM and to live for Christ – individually and corporately.

• the gathering of the living God is mentioned in the Bible under three aspects: 

1. Eternal aspect: all the redeemed from Pentecost (Acts 2) to the Rapture (Eph 1:22-23)
2. Worldwide aspect: all the redeemed currently living on earth (Eph 5:29)
3. Local aspect: all the redeemed living in one place (1 Cor 1:2)
