Baptism

Refers to the immersion of a person (in a body of water) and has a symbolic meaning: someone who is baptized acknowledges that they deserve to die. By being baptized, he expresses that his previous life has come to an end and that from now on, he begins a new life. Christian baptism takes place in the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 8:16; 19:5). This means that through baptism, you publicly profess your faith in Him. One expresses that from now on, one belongs to the Lord Jesus and wants to follow Him as His disciple. Baptism follows conversion and the new birth, through which one becomes a child of God. Water baptism is clearly to be distinguished from Baptism with the Holy Spirit.
