Baptism with the Holy Spirit

The baptism with the Holy Spirit (cf. 1 Cor 12:13) is a unique event that took place on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). The Lord Jesus had announced it (cf. Acts 1:5). It was a collective act through which all believers were united into one body. We can speak of the "birth of the church." The Baptist is Christ, who has joined us to himself through the Holy Spirit to form an inseparable unity. The baptism with the Holy Spirit must not be confused with water baptism.
