Beatitudes

The first statements in the Sermon on the Mount are referred to as the Beatitude (Mt 5:3-12). In it, the Lord praises people who live the moral characteristics of the kingdom of God as blessed or happy to the highest degree because they have God's approval and will inherit blessings.
