Deacon

In the language of the Bible, a deacon is someone who helps other people in the external things of life on behalf of the Lord Jesus with regard to assistance (Acts 11:29), provision (Luke 8:3), and administration or delivery of financial resources (2 Corinthians 9:12). The service is carried out on behalf of the Lord ("serve me" – John 12:26) and for the benefit of the believers (Heb 6:10).
