Denomination

The term, which comes from Latin, literally means “naming” or “designation.” In the religious sense, denomination stands for a specific group of Christians that distinguishes itself from other Christian groups through its doctrine and teaching on biblical topics. In contrast, the Bible only recognizes the one worldwide assembly, which consists of all of God's children and is based solely on God's Word. Where children of God come together in one place on a biblical basis, this is called the 'Assembly of God.'
