Disciple

Disciples are students and followers. Examples are disciples of the Lord (Mt 8:23), of John (Mt 11:2), and of the Pharisees (Mt 22:16). A disciple learns from his teacher, abides in his word, follows him, submits to him, becomes more like him, shares his lot, gives him the highest priority. Jesus' disciples are characterized by love; disciples were first called Christians in Antioch (Mt 10:24; Mt 10:25; Mk 9:31; Mk 10:10; Lk 6:40; Lk 14:27,33; Jn 8:31; Jn 13:35; Acts 11:26).
