Election

All believers in the assembly of God were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). This is also confirmed by the expression "before eternity" in 2 Ti 1:9 and Titus 1:2. In some places in the New Testament, believers are therefore called "elect" (e.g. Romans 8:33; Colossians 3:12). However, anyone who refers God's "predestination" (cf. Romans 8:29) to hell by implication is going beyond the Word. Romans 9:22-23 makes it very clear that God has only actively prepared the vessels of mercy. He wants all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).
