Fulness of the Gentiles

The word 'fullness' means 'completeness'. It is used in Romans 11 in two different senses:

  • The "full number" of the redeemed from Israel (Rom 11:12), who will come to faith in the Messiah after the Rapture of the Assembly (1 Thes 4:16ff), in order to then enter with Christ into the 1000-year kingdom of peace.
  • The "full number of the nations" describes redeemed people from the nations (i.e., not from the earthly people of God, Israel) who come to living faith in Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, in the present dispensation, the time of grace. The Rapture marks the point in time when the "full number of the nations has arrived."
