Heritage

An inheritance is something that falls to someone. It describes something that we have not earned but that God gives us. For Israel, the inheritance is the land that God has promised them and which they will actually possess in the Millennium. For us, the inheritance is, on the one hand, the sum of the spiritual blessings that God gives us – eternal life (Titus 3:7). But with Christ, we also possess a material inheritance - the whole universe. He is the heir. We are his co-heirs (Rom 8:17).
