Morning star

The morning star announces “the day”. The star so designated is the planet Venus. It is visible in the evening as the first star after sunset and then again in the morning as the last star before sunrise. In the Bible, the Lord Jesus is the shining morning star (Rev 22:16) and shows Himself in this heavenly character to the believers. Peter speaks of the rising of the morning star in the hearts of believers (2 Peter 1:19). The dawn and the morning star are the hope of those who are waiting for Christ before he appears publicly as the Sun of righteousness (Mal 3:20).
