Nazarene

"Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" said Nathanael. (John 1:46). Nazareth had a bad reputation. Jesus was called a Nazarene. This not only showed his origin in a value-neutral way but also expressed the contempt people had for him. Even after the Lord's Ascension, He was still associated with Nazareth (see Acts 3:6; 4:10; 24:5).
