New Birth

The new birth is a unique experience at conversion. God gives new (eternal) life to people who were dead in their sins. This makes them children of God (John 1:12, 13). The new birth is God's work. It comes from above and is born of water and the Spirit, i.e., under the influence of the Holy Spirit through the word of God (John 3:1-8). Anyone who has become a child of God in this way will always remain so.
