Oil

When oil is mentioned in the Bible, it usually refers to olive oil. It was considered an important staple food and was used for ointments and as a light source (oil lamp). It was also used in some sacrifices and the anointing of kings, priests, prophets, or objects (e.g., tabernacle). In some places, oil is an image of the Holy Spirit.
