Old man

The old man (not to be confused with the old nature, the flesh) is an abstract term that describes what constitutes a man without God. It brings forth all the evil characteristics of the first man (Adam). The old man is mentioned three times in the New Testament (Rom 6:6; Eph 4:22; Col 3:9). God settled accounts with the old man on the cross. At conversion, we put him off once and for all and put on the new man.
