Peace offering

One of the voluntary sacrifices that an Israelite who wanted to draw near to God was allowed to bring. Special feature: the peace offering was a sacrificial meal through which fellowship was expressed. Not only did God receive his share, which is described as the "food, an offering made by fire to the Lord" (Lev 3:11), but also the sacrificer himself and anyone who was not defiled was allowed to eat from this offering. The peace offering points to the fellowship that we enjoy on the basis of the death of the Lord Jesus (cf. 1 Cor 10:18).
